ANTM Coach Miss J Alexander’s First Red Carpet From Stoke

America’s Next Top Model coach Miss J Alexander she returned to the red carpet for the first time since her stroke.

The Runway coach, 67, stepped out on opening night in Titanic on Broadway in New York City on Sunday, April 12, after revealing that he suffered a stroke in 2022.

For the event, the reality TV star played it cool in a yellow coat adorned with constellations and floral details. Miss J accessorized her look with a plaid scarf, round brown sunglasses and a black cap. The TV actress used a wheelchair during the event.

Miss J first revealed her health issue during Netflix Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model docuseries in February. “Everything changed. On December 27, 2022, I had a stroke,” he shared. “I didn’t know where I was except that I was in the hospital, I was unconscious for five weeks and could not walk. [or] speak up. And I thought, what am I going to do?”

He then released pictures of himself in his hospital room, where he said he spent at least “a year and five months” because he “couldn’t walk and couldn’t talk.”

“It was emotional. I cried,” he added. “I am not ashamed to say that I cried, and I was once in the hospital. Jay [Manuel] again Niguel [Barker] I’m going on tour,” she recalled of her costar on America’s Next Top Model, “I thought back to how we used to do shows together. I cry because I miss them so much.”

Miss J – who is known for teaching some of fashion’s best how to walk – said she can no longer walk, although she is determined to keep herself out of a wheelchair.

“I can’t go. Not yet. For now. I’m willing to go. I’m sure you’ll see me again, I’m sure. It’s not over with me,” he said.

Elsewhere in the docuseries, Nigel, 53, opened up about visiting Miss J in hospital. “I don’t know if he even wanted to see her that way,” he said. “That was a terrible shock and it was upsetting and scary and terrifying.”

Nigel continued, “When he saw me, he was happy to see me and we both cried and I held him.

Jay also went public about seeing Miss J, sharing that he was “hurt.”

“I can only imagine where he was in his mind,” he added.

Miss J was also asked that Tyra Bankswho became famous for hosting a show that caused a lot of noise, visited him in the hospital.

“No, not yet,” revealed Miss J. “She just texted me that she wanted to visit me. But not … yet.”

According to the documents, Miss J’s friends set up a GoFundMe for her, sharing that after spending a year and a half in rehab, she “had more minor bruises, fainting spells, and four hospitalizations.”
