Sydney Sweeney Stuns In 2nd American Eagle Ad After Drama

Sydney Sweeney has teamed up with American Eagle again in a hot summer campaign following his previously controversial ad with the company.
Sweeney, 28, starred in the brand’s “Syd for Short: American Eagle Jean Shorts” ad, which launched on Wednesday, April 15. In the campaign, the Euphoria actress looked gorgeous in blue denim cutoffs, which she teamed with a white blouse that fell off her shoulder.
In another shot, Sweeney rocked a pair of easy-wash shorts complete with a frayed hem. She ended up looking simple in a plain white tee. Sweeney beamed for the camera and showed off her glowing skin and soft makeup, which included pink lips, long lashes and a touch of highlighter. She made her look even more beachy with her blonde styled in loose waves.
Elsewhere in the ad, Sweeney showed off a glimpse of skin while glamming up in a blue crochet top and lounging on a sandy set.
She also starred in the campaign video, where she wore a denim crop top with a knot at the waist and long shorts.
“What kind of product am I wearing?” Sweeney said as he stood in front of the blue sky background. The camera then cuts to her dancing and posing in different outfits, proving just how versatile shorts are.

“Yeah, that one,” he said while giggling. “American Eagle jean shorts.”
In a press conference afterward, Sweeney said “there’s something timeless about a good pair of jeans.”
“They’re not easy, but they make you feel confident and put together without trying too hard,” she continued.
Sweeney also opened up about the brand creating custom styles donating 100 percent of the proceeds to the Crisis Text Line to support those in need.

“Crisis Text Line, a cause close to my heart, has been part of this partnership from the beginning,” explained the actor. “I like to know that when everyone wears these pieces, they are also part of something meaningful, directly helping people who need it.” Fans can purchase the Syd Jen and Syd Short, which supports the mental health issue line, at AE.com.
Sweeney’s second American Eagle campaign comes after his first ad sparked controversy by boasting about his “big jeans,” playing on his August 2025 aesthetic that some likened to white bankruptcy and eugenics.
American Eagle responded to the backlash that month, writing on social media, “‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is about jeans and always about jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We will continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, in their own way. Great jeans look great on everyone.”
Sweeney later opened up about the campaign, telling GQ November 2025, “I made a jean ad.”
“I mean, the reaction was amazing, but I love jeans,” he said at the time. “What I wear is jeans. I wear jeans and a t-shirt every day of my life.”
