A North Carolina Man Poured Gas On His Girlfriend, Set Her On Fire

A North Carolina man has been arrested after allegedly dousing his girlfriend with gasoline and setting her on fire.
The sheriff of Sampson County confirmed this Us Weekly that Franklin “Frankie” Paul Faircloth is accused of breaking into his girlfriend’s house in Sampson County around 10:00 on Saturday, April 11.
Faircloth, 29, is alleged to have assaulted the woman and set her on fire before leaving the scene on a bicycle.
The police began to find Faircloth, who was found two days later in the woods three kilometers from the woman’s home.
Faircloth was arrested immediately after the discovery and taken to the Sampson County Jail.
He has been charged with multiple offences, including vandalism, attempted murder, burglary, assault causing grievous bodily harm and an unprovoked crime of domestic violence.
Faircloth was dating the 36-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, when she was set on fire, according to an arrest warrant obtained by WBTV.
The officer said the woman suffered burns on two-thirds of her body, including burns on both arms, legs, chest and back. After reporting the incident, he was taken to a nearby trauma center for treatment. His current condition is unknown.
The investigation into this matter is still ongoing. Police asked that anyone with information about the incident call the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-592-4141.
Faircloth remains in custody as of press time. It is not yet clear whether he pleaded guilty or retained a lawyer after his arrest.

Although police confirmed Faircloth’s arrest, they did not share details of the incidents that led to the altercation. Additionally, no details have been shared about Faircloth’s relationship with the woman, including how long they have been together and if they have a history of domestic violence.
If Faircloth is convicted of these charges, he could face years in prison.
Those convicted of vandalism in North Carolina can face up to 13 years in prison. First degree burglary carries a sentence of three to 13 years in prison and assault causing serious bodily injury usually results in ten to 41 months in prison. Meanwhile, those found guilty of misdemeanor domestic violence can be sentenced to up to 150 days in jail.
