Everton are now planning a £200k-a-week move for the Premier League midfielder

Everton are now keen to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Conor Gallagher, with David Moyes keen on the 22-capped England international.

The Spurs star is not the only Englishman the Toffees have either, as it was recently revealed that Moyes is a big fan of Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney, who is averaging a goal a game in the Saudi Pro League this season.

Toney is also proven in the Premier League, having enjoyed a successful spell with Brentford, and having turned 30 last month, he may still have plenty of time left at the top level.

Bringing in a new striker this summer would be crucial, considering Thierno Barry has struggled this season, most recently failing to score after being subbed off late in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Barry has just six goals to his name in 33 Premier League outings, although Beto has been in impressive form of late, scoring his fifth goal in six games against Arne Slot’s side.

Everton are eyeing Conor Gallagher for a key midfielder signing now

Not only are Everton looking to sign a centre-back, but bringing in a midfielder is considered a top priority, according to a report by Football Insider, who claim they are planning a move for Tottenham midfielder Gallagher.

The Englishman joined Spurs in the January transfer window, but failed to reach the level expected of him, meaning he could move on this summer, while Moyes is considered a respected figure.

The Toffees are looking to sign the former Atletico Madrid man, who nets £200k-a-week on an initial loan deal, has an obligation to buy, and could be an exciting player, as he has been praised by journalist Jacob Schneider.

Everton is still chasing Europe despite losing the derby

Losing the Merseyside derby in such brutal fashion is never good, but Moyes praised his side’s performance, saying: “There is no shame in the way we played today, we are playing against one of the teams in the league who expect to play for the Champions League and trophies. I think we gave them a good run for their money. I want this team to always compete. They didn’t have their way.”

The Toffees are still in contention for a place in Europe, given that they are one point behind sixth-placed Chelsea, who have been in poor form, and Moyes’ men will be looking to bounce back when they visit relegated West Ham United next weekend.
