The Tottenham star now agrees a deal to leave De Zerbi and join the big club

New Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi is already injured after midfielder Pape Sarr was ruled out of Senegal’s friendly against Gambia.
Sarr joins Spurs’ growing injury list
De Zerbi was confirmed as Spurs manager on Tuesday on a five-year deal, which does not contain a release clause, despite the north London club being just one point clear of three in the Premier League.
With seven games left in the season, De Zerbi has limited time with the club without winning the league in 2026, but has been hit hard by the ongoing injury crisis at N17.
Senegal midfielder Sarr joined his national team last week and featured in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Peru, but was left out of the squad to face Gambia on Tuesday with a shoulder injury, according to Senegalese media.
Any possible injury to Sarr will come at a time for De Zerbi, who has already received a long list of absentees at Tottenham’s Hotspur Way training ground, with Guglielmo Vicario, Ben Davies, Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus all previously absent.
The midfielder has made 22 appearances in the Premier League this season, with the Italian’s options in midfield limited to say the least ahead of the trip to Sunderland.

Tottenham are aiming to sign Roberto De Zerbi on a long-term contract that will start immediately.
The Black Cats were unbeaten at home all season until recently, but have lost three in a row at The Stadium of Light.
The Tottenham star agrees a deal to leave the club this summer
While keeping the club in the top flight is a concern for De Zerbi, he is not alone, with reports revealing he has told Spurs to sign a new defender and goalkeeper this summer.
The latter is an issue that has plagued Igor Tudor’s reign, with Vicario out of form and now injured, while Antonín Kinský’s short-lived first-team spell was a big hit for the Croatian boss.
And it appears Vicario’s time in North London is over, with reports in his home country claiming the 29-year-old has said “yes” to Inter.
Indeed, L’Interista reported that the stopper has agreed a four-year contract worth €3.5m (£3m) per year, with the clubs still to finalize the transfer fee.
Vicario has played for Tottenham 117 times, scoring 170 goals and keeping 29 clean sheets.
