A 22-year-old high school teacher is facing decades in prison after authorities say she had sex with students and served them alcohol in her apartment.
Nadia Horn, who taught World Studies at Eau Claire North High School, made her first appearance in Eau Claire County Court on Monday on charges of child sexual abuse.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by WEAU-TV, the investigation began on March 25 when the Eau Claire Area School District flagged a “potential inappropriate relationship” with the School Resource Officer. Subsequent investigations revealed a pattern of grooming and exploitation involving many victims as young as 16 years old.
Detectives say Horn targeted at least two students he said needed support. One victim told police that Horn bought her a cellphone so she could “Snapchat,” where she allegedly posted “really revealing” photos.

During police interviews, Horn allegedly admitted to sleeping with one victim three times at his Eau Claire home, saying, “I made a mistake.”
The victim reportedly told police that she and Horn did “everything you can do to have sex with someone.”

He allegedly admitted to having sex with a second 16-year-old student, telling investigators that the incidents were “similar” and that he did not feel like he was taking advantage of the child.

Horn also allegedly admitted that he brought the three boys to his apartment in March because they “needed a ride.” When he got there, he allegedly gave the children wine because they “asked for it,” according to the complaint.

If convicted of all charges, Horn faces up to 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
After his appearance in court Monday, a judge set a $15,000 cash bond, which Horn posted soon after. He is scheduled to return to court for a hearing on May 20.
