Amy Duggar criticizes Kendra Duggar for supporting Joseph

Amy Duggar King appearing to strike Kendra Duggar by continuing to support her husband Joseph Duggar following his arrest.
Although she didn’t call out Kendra, 27, by name, Amy, 39, was seen taking swipes at her cousin’s wife in an offensive TikTok video posted on Thursday, April 2.
“How in the hell could she be so unbelievably worried and mad and disgusted with him,” Amy said, apparently referring to Kendra’s response to Joseph, 31, who was arrested last month on child molestation charges.
Amy continued, “Oh, wait, I’ll tell you why, because women in these really toxic systems, like this one, are taught that anger is a sin.”
Amy went on to criticize the culture of intransigence the Duggas were raised in, saying it’s problematic that they were taught not to express anger.
“Anger is wrong and you can’t express it, you have to keep it inside. Stay nice, keep calm and don’t make waves,” he continued. “Oh, and the biggest thing that just drives me crazy is that you have to apologize quickly, very quickly, because heaven forbid, you give yourself time to process what just happened in the world, that your whole foundation of what you built your life on your children has been completely disrupted and it will never be the same again.
She added, “But you’re not allowed to spend time in a place like this, even thinking about yourself. So if you’re upset, you can’t say it, so you have to smile, talk sweetly and remember that your husband loves you no matter what.”

Amy said that “kindness” is encouraged within the Duggar family, which she believes is unhealthy to use in all situations without hesitation.
“My favorite word they always use is ‘kindness.’ ‘We show them kindness. We show men mercy because sins happen and mercy covers us,’” said Amy. “Grace gives repentance. Grace is a wonderful thing. Not in this situation. This is not grace, this is oppression. And so the cycle continues.”
Amy went on to say that she believes that Kendra is less likely to “deal with trauma,” and instead is more likely to “protect her, she will smile sweetly, she will talk to her very kindly and she will defuse the situation.”

Amy explained that she believed that the feeling of anger played an important role in the right situations.
“The healthy reaction to being hurt and betrayed and like, completely heartbroken, is anger. Anger is part of everything. Not in this culture,” she said. “It makes me angry because instead of that what you’re going to see is a very nice, sweet little angel of a wife who is by his side through thick and thin and who reminds you of that? The fact that he’s not angry at all should bother you deeply.”
Us Weekly has contacted the Duggar family for comment.
Joseph was arrested in Arkansas on March 19. He was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving abuse of a victim under the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior by a person 18 or older after a 14-year-old girl came forward to the police accusing Joseph of molesting her when she was 9, Florida to 20 Panama City.
Joseph was returned to Florida earlier this week, where he pleaded not guilty. He was later released on $600,000 bail.
In addition to the molestation charge, Joseph and Kendra were both charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment. These charges are unrelated to the alleged molestation.
