Former New York Yankees shortstop Brett Gardner and his wife, Jessica Gardnerhe sued the Costa Ricans Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort for the wrongful death of their son, Us Weekly can confirm.

In court papers, Brett and Jessica said the hotel was responsible for Miller’s death for failing to “comply with basic safety standards” at the property.
“Other hotel guests were similarly injured while staying in the same guest rooms,” the documents said. “Even after hearing about these dangerous situations, [the hotel] failed to correct these dangerous conditions, thereby causing the death of [Miller] again [the couple’s] injury.”
Arenas Del Mar did not respond to the Gardners’ lawsuit. Us reached the comment.
