The NHL: Anaheim Ducks defenseman Radko Gudas played with a lower body injury last night against the Maple Leafs. This is their first game since Gudas ended Auston Matthews’ season with a knee injury.
Defenseman Pavel Mintyukov returned to the lineup after missing one game with a lower back injury.
Dan Arritt: Ducks forward Cutter Gauthier left last night’s game with an upper back injury. Coach Joel Quenneville: “We’ll see how he is (Tuesday) and learn better.”
Matthew Fairburn: Buffalo Sabers defenseman Michael Kesselring and forward Jordan Greenway may not be selected today, according to coach Lindy Ruff. The timeline for forward Noah Ostlund is unknown, as he could be day-to-day, but he could be out for a long time.
NHL news: Vegas Golden Knights fire Bruce Cassidy and hire John Tortorella
Corey Masisak: Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said forward Nic Roy will resume skating this week and will be back in action well before the start of the playoffs.
The Colorado Avalanche: Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar left last night’s game with an upper back injury.
- Ryan Bouding: Bednar on Makar: “(Makar) is out for a test, we’ll know more (Tuesday). I don’t have an update, really.”
- Corey Masisak: Makar scored on Adam Klapka’s goal with 5:28 left in the second period. He finished the shift and took more after that. Makar did not come out for the third time.

The NHL: Dallas Stars forward Sam Steel will be out for at least a week.
David Dwork: Florida Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov will be out for the rest of the season.
Andrew Gross: New York Islanders defenseman Tony DeAngelo (lower body) has yet to start skating.
Stephen Rosner: Islanders defenseman Alexander Romanov skated for the third straight day in a non-contact jersey.
Julian McKenzie: Ottawa Senators defenseman Jake Sanderson will not play tonight.
Josh Yohe: Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin sat out last night.
Tom Gulitti: Washington Capitals forward Aliaksei Protas (upper-body) did not practice yesterday, and coach Spencer Carbery said Protas will not play tonight. He will probably be out for a while.
