Leeds are now planning to make a move for the in-demand striker who has scored twice as well as Calvert-Lewin
Leeds United have entered the race for Swansea City striker Zan Vipotnik, who could not be allowed to leave the Welsh club, despite penning a long-term contract.
Indeed, the Whites remain determined to improve their attacking options, despite significantly strengthening the central midfielder last summer, bringing in Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and the latter have played a major role in the effort to avoid relegation.
The 29-year-old has ten Premier League goals to his name, earning him a call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s latest England squad, and Daniel Farke has been delighted with what he has seen of the former Everton man.
Farke says: “It’s his job, he has to score goals, but I would always support him to be there. I was not surprised because for me he is one of the best strikers in this league and he shows this level more or less in every game.”
Although the English coach played well in front of the goals, Farke’s are not out of the woods as they are sitting at the top with just four points, with seven games left to play.

Leeds are planning a move to Vipotnik
As such, Leeds could probably do with bringing in some attacking firepower this summer, and they are planning a move for Swansea star Vipotnik, who now has 22 goals to his name in all competitions, double the tally of Calvert-Lewin, who has found the net 11 times.
That’s according to a report from TEAMtalk, which reveals that a number of clubs could be vying for the 24-year-old’s signature, with Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Everton, Brentford and West Ham United also making checks.
Swansea could sell Vipotnik despite agreeing a long-term contract
The Slovenian has penned a new contract which, in theory, extends his stay in Wales until 2030, but the report makes it clear that Swansea can choose to cash in wherever he is, with the new deal not looking to stay long-term.
Manager Vitor Matos may find it difficult to replace the Championship’s top scorer, who he heaped praise on after a superb free-kick against Sheffield Wednesday in February, saying: “Like I said after the game, he’s special, he finds ways to score, that’s another way, and he did that very well.
“He was really happy, for us, it was great to see him on the bench, so it’s something to add and I hope he can continue.”
Leeds are “all-in” on the hunt for a new striker who is “ready” to play alongside Calvert-Lewin.
The Whites are very keen to bring in a new midfielder.
