Everton planning blockbuster £60m move to sign Crystal Palace star with Parish open to sale

Everton are looking to make a statement signing in the summer transfer window, as they eye an “amazing” Crystal Palace star.

The Toffees are making summer plans with Moyes’ new contract on the way

The Toffees made a fine signing before the international break, beating Chelsea 3-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, leaving David Moyes’ side firmly in the European race, three points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool.

Although the Friedkin Group initially viewed Moyes as a short-term appointment, it is now believed that he is the right man for the job long-term, and formal talks about a new deal are scheduled to take place at the end of the campaign.

The Scotland international will be given the chance to play a more important role in recruitment, should he commit to a new deal, and Moyes has confirmed he wants Jack Grealish to stay on Merseyside after the end of the campaign.

When asked if he thought Grealish would play under him next season, the 62-year-old said: “Yes I do. I still give him electricity – go ahead – and make sure I get more from him every week.

“He is not very old but he is reaching the wrong age. He must continue to show that he can do it. The biggest thing for me is that he has finished the games. I didn’t feel like I had to take him off.”

However, with Moyes’ side having scored just 37 goals this season, the fewest in the top flight, they will be looking to inject new quality in attack this summer.

Everton are preparing a statement to sign the Crystal Palace star

According to a report from Sports Boom, Everton are now planning a major move for Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr, and are preparing an opening bid of €30m (£26m), although it could take around £55m – £60m to tempt the Eagles into a sale.

The Eagles would be willing to negotiate Sarr’s exit, should they receive offers on that football pitch, but they remain in a tough negotiating position at the moment, as the striker is under contract until 2029.

Palace team-mate Will Hughes may be disappointed if the Senegal international moves on this summer, recently saying: “A few guys said Ismaila Sarr is amazing. He’s very underrated. I don’t think only in our team, but in football in general. He hasn’t produced this week in, week out, in a few years now. It was really amazing.”

Indeed, the 28-year-old has already proven himself in a couple of seasons in the Premier League, scoring 25 goals and providing 16 assists in the competition during spells with Palace and Watford.

However, £60m would be a huge price to pay for Sarr, who has no experience at a top club, and paying money in that region would make the £70k-a-week striker the most expensive signing in Everton’s history.
