Eric Swalwell Denies Former Employee’s Sexual Harassment Claims

“These allegations are false and come before the election against the governor,” Swalwell, 45, wrote in a statement addressed to the government. Earlier on Friday, news emerged that an unnamed woman came forward to accuse Swalwell of misconduct. The woman, who was 21 when she was hired, said Swalwell tried to have sex with her while she was working at a district office in Castro Valley, California, in 2019, according to the report. SF Chronicle. She said Swalwell sent her a message on Snapchat and it is alleged that he sent her pictures of her private parts and then demanded pictures of her naked.
The woman claims that Swalwell abused her while driving her to events. She alleges that he tried to kiss her in his car after she left a charity meeting. A few weeks after the alleged kiss, the woman said Swalwell asked her to perform oral sex on him. It is said that he committed this act in the parking lot.
He also said that Swalwell invited him out for a drink in September 2019. He “blacked out” and allegedly woke up naked in Swalwell’s hotel bed, where he felt the effects of having sex on his genitals. After the incident, Swalwell is said to have distanced himself from her.
The woman also recalled “snippets” of the incident that allegedly happened after they both attended a charity event in 2024 where they were honored. The woman, who no longer worked for him, said they met for a drink after which Swalwell allegedly forced himself on her.

Swalwell is best known for being a member of the House of Representatives where he has served since 2013. A politician representing Northern California. He previously ran for president in 2020 but resigned after failing to get more than one percent of the vote.
The allegations against Swalwell come amid his campaign for Governor of California. In recent months, Swalwell has been leading the Democratic Party polls.
However, he is ranked third among Republican candidates Chad Bianco again Steve Hilton first and second, respectively. Because of California’s wild primary system, the top two vote-getters in the June primary will advance to the general election in November.
Swalwell is facing several Democrats, including a former U.S. attorney Katie Porterformer Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerramillionaire Tom Steyer and more.
Steyer, who has been trailing in the polls behind Swalwell, responded to the allegations and sent his support for the suspect.
“I applaud the brave former employee who came forward with his story about Eric Swalwell,” Steyer, 68, said on Twitter on Friday. “Speaking is not easy, her case must be taken seriously. Right now we must ensure that women are listened to, and justice is followed.”
