Konrad Bien-Stephencontestant The Bachelorette Australiahe is dead. He was 35 years old.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news of Konrad Bien-Stephen’s passing,” his management team said in a statement. Our thoughts are with all who loved him.”
The outlet noted that it is understood Bien-Stephen died on Monday, March 30, in Melbourne. No other details were shared about his death.
Bien-Stephen’s ex-girlfriend Abbie Chatfield paid the former TV star in a statement on his Instagram Story.
“Hello everyone, I have seen the news of Konrad’s death, and I have been aware of this news for a few days. “Obviously this is a very difficult and strange time for me, and I feel bad for Konrad, his friends and his family. And I’m sad too. Even though we haven’t spoken in years, this is still incredibly difficult.”
She continued, “Please send love and support to Konrad’s friends, family and loved ones. He has many, many people who love him and love him too. I feel so bad for all the people in his life knowing how much he meant to them. And I’m sure for many of you, who never met him.”
Chatfield went on to note that Bien-Stephen was “a very kind and sweet person to everyone,” sharing that he was “a caring man who deserved to live a very long life.”
“I’m sad that he doesn’t get that,” she wrote. “And that his loved ones don’t get that full, long life with him. I know Konrad would want people to share love and kindness and if you do anything today, please check on your mates, do an act of kindness, talk to a friend. Anything. Rest in peace Konrad.”

Bien-Stephen fought back Brooke Blurtonheart in season 7 of The Bachelorette Australia in 2021, where he came in third.
“I’m looking for someone to build a future with… Is @brooke.blurton the one?” Bien-Stephen wrote on Instagram at the time, alongside a photo of himself smiling.
She continued to date Chatfield after that season. The following year, Bien-Stephen competed The challenge Australia.
