Posting on her TikTok account on Friday, March 27, Amy, 39, said she would “probably bet” that Jim Bob would “call a family meeting immediately” or “send a message on a big group chat” when the news broke. (Joseph, 31, was arrested on March 18 on child molestation charges.)
Amy speculated that Jim Bob might have encouraged the family to come together in the middle of this ordeal.
You think Jim Bob would have said something like, “‘Okay, I’m so sorry we’re going through this again as a family. The most important thing is that we come together and show family loyalty and that we love each other no matter what. And right now, we need to be closer than ever. That includes our social media.”
Amy added that she thought Jim Bob would have encouraged his children to continue to “write about your life, write about recipes, write about your kids, write about anything” but she thought he would have told them “not to talk about Joseph.”
Continuing her opinion of Jim Bob, Amy said she thinks her uncle would have instructed family members to forward any interview requests to his team to deal with and “not add anything more than that.”

Jim Bob and Michelle’s eldest son, Josh, was sentenced to 12 years in May 2022 for possession of child pornography.
Joseph was arrested last week on suspicion of lewd and lascivious behavior involving molestation of a victim under the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior by a person 18 or older. A 14-year-old girl came forward with allegations that Joseph molested her while they were on vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, at the age of 9 in 2020.
Us Weekly confirmed after days that Joseph’s wife, Kendra Duggar, was arrested on March 20. He was released the same day on a $1,470 bond.
Joseph and Kendra, 27, are also both charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment.

Amy first prayed for Joseph’s wife Kendra after her cousin was arrested.
“As we realize that we still don’t know the full picture, I pray for Joseph’s wife, Kendra, as she begins to process this, and for the protection of their children,” Amy said earlier in a statement on March 19. “I pray that eyes will be opened and above all, I pray that justice will be fully served.”
However, he retracted this statement when Kendra was arrested.
“I think that was an unseen plot,” Amy said TMZ on March 21. “When I gave that [first] statement … that was just the information I was given at the time and thought to be true. Now that the information has changed and there’s a lot more coming out and there’s a lot of question marks right now.”
