The insider noted that Ifeachor “didn’t choose to leave the show” and doesn’t know of “any closed doors” on his return. Ifeachor, on the other hand, spoke about his experience on the show months later.

“It was a joy and a pleasure to play Dr. Heather Collins and to know that my character was received in such an amazing way. It just blew me away,” Ifeachor told Us in September 2025. “I don’t know where she’ll be next weekend, but I know where I’ll be, which is my next project, which is pretty amazing. But I’m taking the lessons I’ve learned from playing Dr. Heather Collins — playing this character who goes through such a traumatic event and still shows up every day for other people.”

He went on to say:[No one] he stops and asks if he is okay, if he needs time out, if he needs to escape. I think that as a woman, sometimes we carry emotional burdens without realizing it. Ifeachor admitted that he had no idea where his character would be after the events of season 1.

“This is hard news. Do I think he’ll get out of this? Maybe. And, if he can be safe, he’ll be happy. Where will he go again?” he added. “The thing about playing a character that’s incredibly well-written and well-written — it was a lot of mine — is that it’s a story that could go anywhere. At the same time, I’m going to leave it up to the viewer to decide where they’re going to be.”

Ganesh spoke to him Us just before his departure was announced. The actor revealed that he is “curious” about where his character will end up while teasing season 3 of the medical drama.

“It’s up to the writers,” Ganesh shared in February about where he’d like to see Mohan in season 3. “Let’s see where they take him.”

Ganesh continued: “I think we left him in a really interesting place.
