Pitt’s Supriya Ganesh Breaks Her Silence on Distinctive Outing

Supriya Ganesh he finally talks about his exit Pitt – hours before the end of season 2 of the show.
In an interview with JoySauce on Thursday, April 16, Ganesh, 28, was asked where he saw his character, Dr. Samira Mohan, finally, replied, “I hope so [Samira] he’s going somewhere where he’s having an event and he thinks he’s ready to be in the ER.”
Ganesh suggested that she be paired with Mohan Sepideh Moafithe letter of
“Maybe if Dr. Al-Hashimi takes over,” he commented. “It was really interesting to think how different her ER experience would have been if she had had a different appointment.”
Earlier this season, Mohan found himself struggling with going to Dr. Robby’s (Noah Wyle) guidance.
“Robby is a very hot and cold character with Samira. There is a lot of push and pull with them,” Ganesh said exclusively. Us Weekly in March. “So I don’t think he’s surprised, but I don’t think he realized how much it was speculation – and how much it was an insider thing – until the end of the season.”
He added: “He says something that makes her go, ‘That’s crazy.’ I think that’s the time when what depressed him was that he was taking something else that had nothing to do with him but himself. It’s definitely something he’s not surprised by, but I think he’s surprised by how much it just makes sense to him at the end of the day.”
News broke after one month that Mohan will be written off after the end of season 2. At the time it was reported that Ganesh’s departure as Mohan was “story driven” as the show was set in a teaching hospital.
Ganesh is not the first cast member whose exit has caused a backlash among viewers. Tracy Ifeachor confirmed her exit in July 2025, with a source telling us that month that it was always the plan for her character – who was a fourth-year resident in the first season – to continue her career.
Wyle, 54, meanwhile, broke his silence on Ganesh’s exit – and the backlash that followed – earlier this month.
“It’s an inevitable thing that’s going to happen every season with this show, because as writers we’re struggling to figure out how much time we can have and keep most of the ensemble together for real,” he told Variety at The Pitt’s PaleyFest screening on Sunday, April 12.
Wyle revealed that the decision to write the character of Ganesh was not a personal one.
“Emergency rooms have a high revolving door. As always, we try to bring in new actors or promote from within as we go through these cast changes and try to keep the story lines fresh, but obviously Supriya has been a big part of our show since the beginning,” he continued. “Dr. Mohan is a lovely character, and I love playing with him and working with Supriya, and we wish him all the best in his next endeavours, and we will miss him.”
Season 2 finale Pitt airs on HBO Max on Thursdays at 9 pm ET.
