3. ‘Beautiful House’ (2021)
Average RT: 71
Sigourney Weaver he’s been a star for almost 50 years now, but lately he’s been stuck acting in mediocre indie films and A photo succession. That changed A Beautiful Housea silent drama about a woman who has never met.
I Alien The actress stars as Hildy Good, a once-successful New England realtor who’s lost her home-selling mojo due to some personal issues — like a broken marriage she’s recovering from and a habit of drowning her sorrows with a nice glass of wine. He wants to be on top again, but in a depressed housing market, few are buying and he likes his former assistant and current rival, Wendy (Kathryn Erbe). Her private life blossoms when she meets Frank (Kevin Kline), an ex-boyfriend who still has feelings for her, but Hily’s secret drinking problem may cost her any chances of finding love and success again.
A Beautiful House may have low stakes, but Weaver’s serious performance keeps you invested in them — and what happens to Hildy. The film can’t shake its “champagne troubles” aura – for all she cares, Hildy still has it pretty good – but it’s a credit to Weaver and Kline that it makes you care about people whose bank accounts are almost twice yours.
2. ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ (2011)
Average RT: 84
The height of the Cold War, and there is a mole in Britain’s foreign intelligence service, MI6. Only one man can identify the Soviet secret agent, that is George Smiley (Gary Oldman). But Smiley was forced to retire years ago, and he’s still bitter. When the bodies start piling up, Smiley’s patriotic duty overrides his wounded self, and he investigates who has been leaking sensitive information to the Russians. What he discovers may lead to the downfall of not only one of his friends, but also the end of Smiley’s marriage and life.
Based on recommendations John Le Carre the novel of the same name, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy it has a tricky plot that requires you to watch the movie at least twice – maybe more. I had to watch it four times to fully understand what was going on, but I didn’t mind—the film boasts amazing acting, writing, and direction. It also effectively evokes an era of Cold War suspicion, where some of your closest friends may be secretly working to undermine the country you live in. In this context, Smiley can’t trust anyone — not even himself. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a great fun game that rewards you with each subsequent replay.
1. ‘Weapons’ (2025)

One random night in a small town in Pennsylvania, seventeen children wake up, run outside with outstretched arms and disappear into the darkness. No one knows why, only that every child had one thing in common – they all belonged to Justine Gandy (Julia Garner) first stage. That’s why everyone in town thinks they’re doing something about it. Justine insists she’s innocent, but no one believes her except Alex Lilly (Cary Christopher), the only kid in his class who didn’t disappear. Alex knows more than she’s letting on, but her silence hides a fear that Justine and the rest of Maybrook will soon understand.
Weapons starts as a mystery that quickly turns into a horror movie involving strange curses and – to tell you more would spoil some of the fun. Garner and Josh Brolin as the grieving father are great, but there’s a reason why Amy Madigan he won an Oscar for his performance in 13 minutes. In that short time, he creates a fascinating character, Aunt Gladys, who stands up close to some of the great cinematographic horror images, such as. Ruth Gordonthe devil worshiping neighbor Minnie in between Rosemary’s baby. Gladys is funny, sad and scary, and that explains her unfortunate wardrobe and shake-and-go wig.
