A man has been arrested at Disney World after he was linked to the fireworks explosion that killed seven people in California last month.
Kenneth Cheeowner of Devastating Pyrotechnics, was among several people arrested in connection with a fireworks explosion in Yolo County in July 2025.
Chee was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Bay Lake, Florida, on Thursday, April 9, according to jail records. The address of his arrest is the same as the location of Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
It is not yet clear how he was tracked down to Florida for his arrest.
At the time of the tragic incident, a fire broke out following a series of explosives involving commercial explosives and ammunition, according to WESH. Authorities said none of the fireworks companies or facilities required local permits to store fireworks prior to the incident.
Devastating Pyrotechnics worked with fireworks company Blackstar Fireworks to put on the show.
Chee is currently facing multiple charges, including seven counts of murder and one count of conspiracy. Chee is currently being held in the Orange County Jail.
He attended his trial on Friday, April 10, where the judge denied him bail.
Apart from Chee, six other people were arrested in connection with the explosion. Samuel Machado, Tammy Machado, Jack Y. Lee, Gary Young Chan Jr., Craig Cutright again Ronald Botelho II were identified as other arrested persons.
KCRA reported that Cutright was booked in Yolo County and is being held on $500,000 bail. Cutright, who owns Blackstar Fireworks, is also listed as an employee of Devastating Pyrotechnics and is a volunteer firefighter for the Esparto Fire District.
He was charged with four counts of criminal conspiracy, two counts of illegal possession of explosives, one count of vandalism without permission, one count of possession of illegal destructive items, one count of possession of explosives in a public place, two counts of giving explosives to a person without additional pemeth and another.
At the time, Samuel and Tammy Machado were the owners of the factory where both companies were setting off fireworks.
At the moment it is not clear whether anyone arrested in connection with this case has filed a petition or has been retained by a lawyer after their arrest.
The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond Us Weeklyrequest for comment on the case.
