One of the best pieces of technology I’ve added to my equipment arsenal over the past few years is the Garmin Approach S70 watch. The watch not only looks good, it also has many useful functions. It delivers the yardage, but it also shows me a full-color display of the hole I’m on, thanks to an extensive library of over 40,000 preloaded courses, and the yards at any point on the hole, so I can easily make my strategies. When I’m playing with others, I can quickly jump through a carry or other requested intermediate distance with a quick tap on the watch face.
Another feature I like: The battery lasts a long time, and the USB charger even plugs into my car, so if I forget to charge before a cycle (which has happened more than once), I can plug it in on the road and get enough charge to get through the cycle. The watch doubles as a heart rate tracker, so you can wear it to the gym and keep track of your progress.
