Rangers are already in talks to sign a new striker who could send Miovski packing

Glasgow Rangers defender Bojan Miovski is set to return from international duty earlier than expected to prepare for next weekend’s Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee United.
The striker was supposed to play for North Macedonia and Ireland in a friendly on Tuesday night, but the Gers held talks with his country to bring him back before that game.
This means that Miovski will not be available during the week and will be available to Danny Rohl for the rest of the training week, and he will be ready for the game next Saturday.
It remains to be seen how beneficial that will be for the Light Blues, however, as the left-back has not started a Premiership game since February 2 against Kilmarnock.
The former Aberdeen man has only played 20 minutes in the Gers’ last three league games, with Ryan Naderi and Youssef Chermiti both ahead of him in the standings.
Rangers are eyeing a summer deal for a new striker
Miovski’s lack of game time in recent weeks could worry the striker ahead of the summer transfer window, as he may look to find a new club with more minutes to offer.
The powers that be at Ibrox may think the same way as they are reportedly looking to add another striker to their squad, despite already having Miovski, Chermiti, and Naderi.
According to the Daily Record, Glasgow Rangers are among the clubs interested in signing Sheffield United defender Tyrese Campbell ahead of the summer transfer window.
The report claims the Light Blues have made contact with the Blades in the January transfer window, but the Championship side were unwilling to part with the striker amid their relegation battle.
He adds that the Gers are now looking to sign him this summer, when his contract will have just 12 months left to run, as they have retained their interest since January.
However, the Daily Record reveals that Celtic are also interested in signing the 26-year-old, which means there could be serious competition for his services.
Why this is bad news for Bojan Miovski
The club’s reported interest in a deal to sign Campbell from Sheffield United will come as bad news for Miovski, as it could mean the end of his time at Ibrox.
As already mentioned, the North Macedonian player has found himself out of action in recent weeks and is not picking up many minutes on the pitch in the Premiership.
Naderi only signed for the club from Hansa Rostock in the January window, so it looks unlikely that he will be let go any time soon for a new striker, and the Gers have splashed a cheap £8m on the signing of Youssef Chermiti, who has scored nine league goals.
Therefore, Miovski looks like a player at risk of being moved from Ibrox if a new midfielder arrives at the club, given his place in the pecking order as it stands.
Campbell, described as a “scorer” by journalist Josh Bunting, has scored 16 goals in 41 starts for Sheffield United in the Championship since the start of last season.
The England international, now 26 years old, could arrive at Ibrox and hit the ground running on the back of impressive form with the Blades down south.
Another thing that has brought Miovski down this season is his finishing. The Rangers striker has only scored four goals and missed seven ‘big chances’ in the Premiership, but Campbell showed a clinical finish against Sheffield United.

The former Stoke City centre-forward has improved his xG over the past two seasons in the Championship with the Blades, suggesting he will be the health finisher Rangers lack with Miovski on the pitch.
With 12 months left on his contract this summer, the Light Blues could also secure a cut-price deal for the EFL star as Sheffield United risk losing him for nothing next year if they don’t get the money.
Therefore, Campbell would be the best signing for Rangers as a clinical finisher and proven goalscorer who could come in as an upgrade for the elusive Miovski, leaving the club with a big decision to make regarding the former Aberdeen man’s future.
