Bruce Willismy wife, Emma Heming Williscelebrating their 17th wedding anniversary amid the actor’s diagnosis of frontal lobe dementia.
“I was made to love him,” Emma, 47, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, March 21, alongside a throwback photo of the happy couple on the beach. “17 years,” he added, with a ring and a white heart emoji.
The accompanying photo was taken when the pair wed in 2009 in Turks and Caicos, showing Bruce, now 71, holding Emma in both arms as they smiled.
Emma and Bruce met in 2007, tying the knot two years later. The two have two children together: daughter Mabel Ray, born in 2012, and daughter Evelyn Penn, born in 2014.
Bruce is also the proud father of three other daughters – Rumer Willis, Willis again Talula Willis — whom he shared with his ex-wife Demi Moore.
I Die Hard The star was diagnosed with aphasia in 2022, after which she stopped acting. His initial diagnosis has progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD), which the Mayo Clinic describes as an “umbrella term” for a number of brain diseases that often affect the frontal and temporal lobes.

“It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make so far,” Emma said in an interview with 2025. Diane Sawyerrevealing that she had decided to move Bruce to a second home and hire full-time care. But I knew that, first, Bruce would want that from our daughters.
Emma later opened up about the “benefit of getting help” in her memoir An Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Your Own in the Journey of Care.

“One benefit of getting help, whether you bring it into your own home or your loved one moves into a community-based setting, is the ability to return to your original role in your loved one’s life,” she wrote. “One day Bruce and I were sitting in the backyard of our second home, watching the girls swim and giggle in the pool. As we held hands, Bruce sang a Frank Sinatra song playing in the background. For a moment, it was the little normal thing we really needed.”
Emma shared that she takes their daughters to visit Willis regularly, where they enjoy eating together, playing with their toys and just spending time with their famous father.
