Denise Richards bares it all when it comes to her facelift.
The “Wild Things” actress, 55, had plastic surgery in 2025, and in a new interview, she revealed the details of her “shocking” transformation, a divorce-inspired recovery and a return to her daughters.
“I wanted to take things back, to where they were before,” Richards told Allure.

The first time she had plastic surgery was when she had breast implants at the age of 19, and she has had multiple surgeries since then.
But he said it was the first time he had surgery to improve his appearance. “I was scared,” said Richards, well aware that the world was watching his age.
“Being in the public eye since I was 20, people know what I look like – a facelift is not something I can hide.”

“It’s night and day,” Richards says of her thoughts before and after a facelift. “It’s shocking, actually.” After the facelift, she added, some celebrities “were more comfortable telling me about theirs, but I won’t name names.”
He also made it clear that there is more to the story of Hollywood glow-ups, noting that “it’s not just serums and lasers” that make celebrities look young.
Richards explained that he gave his surgeon complete control.

“My face was in his hands,” said Richards, emphasizing his trust in Dr. Ben Talei. He recalled telling her, “You’re an artist. Whatever you want to do.”
However, a few days after his surgery, Richards found himself dealing with a personal issue that complicated his recovery.

“Unfortunately, I started separating 10 days after the surgery. So the second week was not as calm as the first week. But I was still recovering, I made sure to take care of my tails. Each day that went on, the swelling got better and better. I looked like me, but better.”
Aaron Phypers filed for divorce from Richards on July 7, citing irreconcilable differences. Ten days later, Richards’ first request for a temporary restraining order was granted.
The “Melrose Place” star’s request for a permanent restraining order was granted in November.

“During my divorce, my ex revealed that I was going to have a makeover. He asked a photographer to take a look outside of the time when I had small scars on my scars. [my ex] I told someone I had a facelift, and they said it was wrong, which is really funny.”

Richards added, “You know, I went back and forth about whether I was going to say anything about lifting my face — um, she let the cat out of the bag. I think I might have gone, ‘Oh, she looks so much better after her divorce.’ I think maybe I would have been able to get away with it – or not, I don’t know.”
The Hollywood actress also shared that her decision caused concern in her family, especially among her daughters.

“My older daughters weren’t happy that I did it. But I think now they understand, and they see that I still look like me. I think they were just worried, mostly, [me] surgery. They were telling me that I don’t need it. I was very young. I told them that this is something I want to do, and you may not agree with my decision, but I just want your support. I understand that you feel the way you do, but please know that this is something I want to do for me.”
The conversation also sparked a moment in her household, as Richards pondered the disagreements between her daughters over cosmetic procedures.

“I didn’t want to [my daughter] Sami got a nose job about two years ago. So when he said he didn’t want me to get it fixed, he said, ‘Mom, you didn’t want me to get a nose job.’ I said, ‘Yeah, but you were 20 and that’s your nose. That can change the way you look. To me he just puts things back where they were. I’m not trying to change the way I look; I’m just trying to take things back. There is little difference, in my opinion.’
