An Oklahoma man with a long criminal record has been arrested after allegedly breaking into his home and climbing into bed with his young child.
Authorities were called to an Oklahoma City home after Josh Hodnik was awakened by his 11-year-old son to find an unknown man in his bed on Saturday, March 14. in accordance with KOKH.
“My son woke me up, he said, ‘Hey, there’s a man in my bed,'” Hodnik told the outlet.
Hodnik said he did not believe his son at first, telling the child he had a bad dream or was imagining things.

“It just scared me, it shook me,” said Hodnik. “I was like, ‘What are you saying, what do you mean?’ I thought he was sleeping again, and, again, he was wrong, he was thinking things or whatever. ”
However, when Hodnik went to check the bedroom, he realized that his son was telling the truth.
“There was an elderly man lying on the bed,” Hodnik said, KOKH reported. “He came with his own dress, wearing one sock, and no shoes.”

Hodnik remembers his two children playing outside in the family yard the night before the incident. When the children went back inside, the father said they did not lock the front door and failed to check on it before they went to bed.
“I didn’t go check the front door after they played outside on Friday night,” Hodnik told KOKH. “And that was my fault. I wish I had, but I shouldn’t have. Okay? We shouldn’t live in a society where another person walks in your door.”

The suspect, identified as Charles Bradford, 46, was later arrested and charged with burglary and five other counts, according to the store.

The revelation about Bradford’s past left Hodnik questioning how a repeat offender was allowed to walk the streets freely.

“This guy shouldn’t have been on the street. He killed his cellmate. Guy has 12 violent crimes, assaulting a police officer, assaulting medical personnel, over and over and over again. Then he let this guy walk free,” Hodnik said.
After his most recent sentencing in Oklahoma City, the district attorney’s office told KOKH Bradford requested psychiatric treatment because officials decided stability and treatment would be in his best interest.

However, it is reported that officials are considering his ability to continue participating due to the new charges against him.
“He shouldn’t be on the road,” Hodnik told the outlet. “You know, I felt bad for this boy, when this story happened. But at the same time he came into my house and slept in my child’s bed, and all I could do was not to kill the boy.”

Bradford remains in custody at the Cleveland County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond, according to court records obtained by Fox News Digital.
The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
